Fables use a timeless, simple storytelling format to teach eternal and universal truths. My fables focus on gentle wisdom through stories that are both accessible and meaningful. Sometimes, the most powerful lessons are found in the simplest stories.
To date, I’ve written three fables:
The Duck and the Cypress Tree follows a Duck as it engages in a philosophical conversation with a Cypress tree, exploring its quest for love and ultimately discovering the true meaning of love.
“So,” said the Cypress. “If you can make it all up. If you can choose anything you want. What do you want?”
The Duck didn’t hesitate. “I want to be loved.”
“Easy!” laughed the Cypress. And as he laughed the wind blew through his branches and made a soothing, melodic, rustling sound.
The Cypress tree guides the Duck through a series of reflections, leading to a realisation that love is not what she thought it was.
